New York University’s Documentary Production in Havana, Cuba

This is our second year teaching New York University’s documentary video production course in Havana, Cuba.  Bringing together NYU and Cuban students, this immersive semester-long course covers all the crucial steps from the development of ideas and research through editing and post-production. Students direct two films each during the program and learn how to shoot on the FS7 camera and edit in Adobe Premiere Pro. In addition, they attend screenings of Cuban films, workshops, and master classes. The course is offered in collaboration with the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba, the Cuban Institute of Cinema (ICAIC), and the University of Havana.
